Mare Lease Program
Benefits:
The primary benefit of our mare lease program is the opportunity to breed to the finest mares available without the large capital investment required to purchase the mare. In addition, our program is designed to include the associated costs of board, farrier, worming, routine shots, and standard vet bills (excluding those associated with breeding related costs) so your outside costs are minimal. Our program allows you to choose the stallion best suited to your breeding goals.

Program Summary:
Each season some mares at Sunset Hill Farms will be available for the mare lease program. Mares are available on a first come, first serve basis and should be scheduled two months prior to the expected breeding date. This will depend largely on the foaling schedule of the mare as most will not be open from the previous season. Once the mare is ready, we will coordinate the insemination of the mare by the stallion of your choice. All fees related to the stallion service will be the responsibility of the leasing party. Once the mare is confirmed in foal, Sunset Hill Farms will provide care for the expectant mare until the foal is weaned, up to four months after foaling on our farm. Once weaned, the foal is ready to be picked up by the leasing party.

Fees:
Fees available upon request.
